A Sweet Winter for Ohio's $5 Million Maple Syrup Industry

This winter has been sweet for Ohio's maple syrup industry due to warmer days and cold nights which helps the maple trees produce lots of sap. Richards Maple Products and our own Jen Freeman were featured in a story by News 5 Cleveland regarding this year's maple syrup season.

The maple syrup industry as a whole pumps $5 million into Ohio's economy each year by producing about 100,000 gallons of maple syrup. Richards Maple Products produces about 300 gallons of syrup each year and this winter season is turning out to be very sweet for syrup makers in the maple capital of Ohio, Geauga County.
