Maple Bacon Donut Grilled Cheese

  • 2 glazed donuts, sliced in half
  • 6 slices bacon
  • 4 slices cheddar cheese, or cheese of choice
  • 2 tablespoons Richards Maple Syrup
  • Pinch of cinnamon
  • Pinch of cayenne

  1. Cook the bacon in a skillet until crispy. Set aside, draining excess grease.
  2. In a small bowl, whisk together the maple syrup, cinnamon, and cayenne to create a sweet & spicy glaze.
  3. Toast the sliced donuts in the same skillet used for the bacon, cut side down, until golden brown.
  4. Flip the donuts, and on each bottom half, lay out 2 slices of cheese, followed by the bacon. Reserve remaining 2 slices of bacon for topping.
  5. Spread the prepared maple syrup glaze over the bacon and cheese.
  6. Put the tops of the donuts on and cook for 1-2 minutes longer, allowing the cheese to melt.
  7. For extra flavor, top with leftover glaze and remaining bacon, crumbled. Enjoy!
